SPINDLEMAN, Sandra Jean

Sandra Jean Spindleman of Hillsdale, Michigan passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 at The “Mac” McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale. She was born October 14, 1944 in Dearborn, Michigan the daughter of William and Evelyn (Paige) Fistler.
She is survived by her husband, James Spindleman; five children, Sandra McKee, Kimberly Yoachum, Dennis (Angela) Farris, Kelly Newton and Carolyn (Tony) Hilton all of Hillsdale, MI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several siblings.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Sandra Jean Spindleman will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Tuesday, March 9th beginning at 3:00 P.M. At her request cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home in Hillsdale. GARRETT, Charles H. “Charlie”

Charles H. “Charlie” Garrett of Hillsdale, Michigan passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Montpelier, Ohio Emergency Room. He was born November 20, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Russell and Verla Garrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marie A. Garrett on July 21, 2002. He is survived by three sons, Al Garrett of Hillsdale, Michael (Judy) Garrett of Bryan, OH and Thomas (Wendy) Garrett of Jonesville, MI; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one brother, Robert P. Garrett of Elkton, MI.
Mr. Garrett served his country in the United States Army during W.W. II as a Medical Aid and he was a member of D.A.V. # 68. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hillsdale where he served as a former custodian and a former member of the Methodist Men and he was a life member of the Masonic Lodge in Hillsdale and the Low 12 Club.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Charles H. “Charlie” Garrett will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Saturday, March 6th beginning at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Curtis Jensen officiating. Interment will take place in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Litchfield. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 5th from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home in Hillsdale. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church in Hillsdale or to a charity of your choice.

LEHMAN (Clark), Beulah M.

Beulah M. (Clark) Lehman of Hillsdale, Michigan passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at The “Mac” McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale. She was born October 30, 1923 in Williams County, Ohio the daughter of William and Della (Grisier) Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Lehman; two sisters, Helen Stewart and Pauline Downing; one brother, Russell Clark and one great grandchild, Teddy Lambright. She is survived by four children, Nancy (Leonard) Lambright of Hillsdale, Larry (Luanne) Lehman of Osseo, Charlene (Robert) Gibson of Hillsdale and Patricia Nichols (George Kittle) of North Adams; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lehman retired from Vaco Products in Jonesville and she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Hillsdale. She enjoyed going to garage sales, playing the lottery and playing bingo.
At her request cremation has taken place and there will be no additional services at this time. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to a charity of their choice.

OULCH, Margaret J.

Margaret J. Oulch of Parma, Michigan formerly of Jerome, Michigan passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 at Allegiance Health in Jackson. She was born April 27, 1936 in Hillsdale, Michigan the daughter of Isaac and Florence Daniels.
She is survived by her husband, Frank K. Oulch, Jr. whom she married on May 28, 1951; four children, Frank K. Oulch III of Jackson, Anthony L. (Elaine) Oulch of Cambria, David P. Oulch of Jerome and James N., Sr. (Phyllis) Oulch of Racine, WI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; 15 siblings and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Oulch was a member of A.A.R.P. and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale.
At her request cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will take place at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the family.

GORDON, Alex Dennis

Alex Dennis Gordon of North Adams, Michigan passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010. He was born July 15, 1975 in Hillsdale, Michigan the son of Verdon E. and Deborah D. (Harmon) Gordon.
He is survived by his parents; one brother, Eric Edward Gordon of Hillsdale; grandmother, Virginia Harmon of Hillsdale; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends.
Alex attended Hillsdale Free Methodist Church as a young boy and he worked for D & L Woodwork in North Adams for over 8 years. He was a sports fan who particularly enjoyed football and his favorite team was the Detroit Lions.
A funeral service to honor the life of Alex Dennis Gordon will be held at the First Baptist Church in North Adams on Friday, March 5th beginning at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Eric Sass officiating. At the request of the family cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends for visitation at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Thursday, March 4th from 6-8 P.M. and they will also receive friends for visitation on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the family to help with the funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

BREWER, Delbert Dean

of Jerome, Michigan passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 at Judy’s Kountry Care Home in Camden, Michigan. He was born June 23, 1925 in Hudson, Michigan the son of William and Hazel (Sawdey) Brewer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence Brewer. He is survived by one sister, Emma Lou Batterson of Jackson, MI; niece, Dorothy (Larry) Aemisegger of North Adams, nephews, Bill (Judy) Brewer of Kalamazoo and Michael (Janine) Brewer of Osseo; cousins, Virginia Burman, Barbara Fisher and Frances Reasnor and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Mr. Brewer enjoyed working as farmer for many years and later in life he worked at Addison Products until he retired.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Delbert Dean Brewer will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in North Adams on Tuesday, March 2nd beginning at 11:30 A.M. with Pastor Paul Hane officiating. Interment will take place in the Aldrich West Cemetery in Somerset Township. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home in North Adams. WILSON, Margaret Mary

Margaret Mary Wilson, 86, of Hillsdale, Michigan went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at her home under the loving care of her family and friends. She was born December 20, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Joseph L. and Grace Margaret (Markel) Lueck. She met her husband, Joe, while working in a factory office during W.W. II. and they were married on January 19, 1946. She was a devoted wife to Joe for 58 years. He worked at General Motors, Cadillac Plant for 40 years. They bought their dream farm in Hillsdale just in time to be swept away in the Palm Sunday tornado of 1965. After rebuilding they enjoyed country life together for many years. He preceded her in death in 2004. She leaves behind five dear sisters, Monica Ellis, Dorothy Cordts, Virginia Alexander, Charlotte Nastale and Sylvia Compagnoni; a daughter, Nancy Wilson; sister-in-law, Lois Wild; many treasured nieces and nephews and cousin, Rev. Ray (Wilma) Wilson. She loved her family. She had a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed nature, bird watching and flower gardening. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to your local animal shelter, wildlife conservancy or feed the birds.

PSOTA, Blanche R. “Peggy”

of Horton, Michigan passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan. She was born May 4, 1925 in Grass Lake, Michigan the daughter of Orville and Bessie McManus.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Psota, whom she married on May 3, 1965; four children, James (Etsuko) Clark, Susan Forsch, Colleen (Andrew) Anderson and Jon Clark; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Howard (Betty) McManus and Leonard (Billie) McManus and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Psota was a member of the D.A.R. and she was also a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Concord, Michigan.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Blanche R. “Peggy” Psota will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hanover on Friday, February 26, 2010 beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Father Denis R. Spitzley officiating. Interment will take place in the Horton Cemetery. MASTERS (Taylor), Evelyn

Evelyn Masters age 90, of Zephyrhills, Florida passed away on February 10, 2010 after a short illness. She was born on June 30, 1919 in Moscow, Michigan to Ralph and Alice Taylor, the first of 10 brothers and sisters. She had been a resident of Zephyrhills for the past seven years. She also had past residence in Hillsdale, Michigan for 17 years and Maumee, Ohio for 34 years. She was married to Wendell Masters, her loving husband of 43 years, who preceded her in death. She was a wonderful mother to Alice Clough, Jerry Masters (Judy) and Wendy Seman (Joseph). She is also survived by two brothers; five sisters; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Evelyn Masters will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home, 116 S. Hillsdale St. in North Adams, MI on Saturday, February 20, 2010 beginning at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Paul Hane officiating. Interment will take place in the Northlawn Cemetery in North Adams. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. MESAROSH SR., Ronald C.

Ronald C. Mesarosh, Sr. age 65, of North Adams, Michigan passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Hillsdale County. He was born June 19, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Adam, Sr. and Francis (Moore) Mesarosh. He married Virginia Ann (Butler) Mesarosh on September 17, 1966 and she preceded him in death on August 2, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by three sons, Ronn (Denise) Mesarosh, Rodney Mesarosh and Brian (Missey) Mesarosh; one daughter, Gina Semmler; 12 grandchildren, Kendra, Colt, Andrea, Britt, Gretta, Grayson, Char, Pressly, Quade, Lennon, Kayle and Lincoln and two brothers, Adam, Jr. (Claudia) Mesarosh and Bruce (Michelle) Mesarosh.
Mr. Mesarosh served his country for six years through the National Guard. He worked at Hillsdale Tool for 26 years and retired to move on to start the Eden Alternative at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility which he considered to be one of his life’s greatest achievements.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Ronald C. Mesarosh, Sr. will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Thursday, February 18th beginning at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Daniel E. Pann officiating. Interment will take place in the Northlawn Cemetery in North Adams. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, February 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home in Hillsdale. SHAW, Sarah Louise

Sarah Louise Shaw of Jerome, Michigan passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Countryside Care Center in Jackson. She was born August 29, 1923 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin the daughter of Laurel and Ruth (Searles) Kirk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Shaw in 1987 whom she married in 1942, one son, Gary Shaw and one sister, Libby Westfall. She is survived by two daughters, Laurel (Roger) Bennett of Hudson, MI and Elaine (Randy) Eicher of Pleasant Lake, MI; six grandchildren, Kim, Kellie, Tracy, Kandi, Alexandra “Lexy” and Robert; 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Esther) Kirk of Muskegon, MI and John (Susan) Kirk of Gillette, Wyoming; two sisters, Norma (Chuck) Norvell of Gloversville, N.Y. and Eleanor Pahlau of Fort Collins, CO and several nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Mrs. Shaw was a lifelong resident of the Jerome area. She was a member of the Jerome United Methodist Church where she served as Choir Director and Sunday School Leader and until the last few years she was very involved in the United Methodist Women. She served as a Missionary through the Red Bird Mission in Kentucky and the McCurdy School in New Mexico. She also enjoyed traveling and had traveled the world with many of her good friends.

HOLLOWAY, Robert H. “Bob”

Robert H. “Bob” Holloway of Jonesville, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2010. He was born August 10, 1936 in Chattanooga, Tennessee the son of Oscar and Nancy (Johnson) Holloway.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mayme Holloway on May 18, 2008.
He is survived by four sons, Harold (Lynne) Holloway, Kenny (Darlene) Holloway, Paul (Theresa) Holloway and Everett (Emma) Holloway; grandchildren, Teresa, Jack, Chris, Nicholas, Jesse, Adam, Cameron, Zac, Isaac and Tori and great grandchildren, Taylor, Josh, Nathaniel, Haliegh, Ethan, Gabrielle, Jacob and Griffin; three sisters, Mary (Ed) Dent, Faye Spicer and Betty (James) Ables and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Holloway was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for 55 years. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 34 years and retired in December of 2001.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Robert H. “Bob” Holloway will be held at Hillsdale Assembly of God on Thursday, February 4th at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Everett Holloway officiating. Interment will take place in the Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville. The family will receive friends for visitation at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Wednesday, February 3rd from 2-9 P.M.
